SSC admit card through login: city slip, download and checks

SSC admit cards are downloaded after logging in to your candidate account on ssc.gov.in. Here is the sequence, what each document is for, and how to deal with a card that won't appear.

Admit cards open only after you log in. Stuck at that step? See how SSC login works.

The admit card sequence

For recent SSC computer-based exams the documents have come in this order. Dates differ by exam and are announced in SSC notices.

SSC exam documents in order: slot selection (some exams), city intimation slip, admit card, exam day with admit card and photo ID.
Which SSC document comes when. All are downloaded through the candidate login.
DocumentWhat it tells youIs it your entry pass?
Slot confirmation (only for exams with self-slot selection)The city, date and shift you choseNo
City intimation slipYour exam city and date, so you can plan travelNo
Admit card (admission certificate)Exact venue, reporting time, roll number and instructionsYes — carry it with valid photo ID

From SSC's notices: city and centre details are uploaded about 10 days before the exam, and the admit card download opens about 2–3 days before the computer-based exam (CGL 2026 (opens in a new tab) §14.4–14.6; CHSL 2026 (opens in a new tab) §14.4–14.6). Admit cards are not sent by post or email. If your details are still missing one week before the exam, the Phase XIV notice (opens in a new tab) (§16.5) tells you to call SSC's toll-free helpline, 1800 309 3063.

For CGL 2026 Tier-I, for example, exam city details went live in the login on 21 September 2026 for exams from 30 September (SSC notice (opens in a new tab)).

Releases follow each candidate's own exam date, often in phases. If your friend's admit card is out and yours isn't, check whether your exam is on a later date.

Regional websites vs the main login

Older guides tell you to download admit cards from SSC's regional websites. For current computer-based exams, SSC's notices say admit cards are available on the Commission's website (Phase XIV notice (opens in a new tab), §16.3), so use your ssc.gov.in login. Regional offices still matter for exam-centre questions and some region-level notices.

Where each admit card comes from

Not every stage's admit card is in the SSC login. Later physical and medical stages are often run by other organisations.

How to download your SSC admit card

Official SSC candidate login. Log in with your Registration Number and password on ssc.gov.in.

Open SSC login (official SSC website, opens in a new tab)
  1. Read the admit card notice for your exam on ssc.gov.in. It confirms when and how cards will be issued.
  2. Log in through “Login or Register” with your Registration Number and password.
  3. Open the admit card or city slip option shown for your exam in your dashboard.
  4. Download the PDF and save it on your phone and computer.
  5. Print it as instructed. Check whether the notice asks for colour printing or additional copies.

Avoid “direct admit card download” links on unofficial websites and Telegram channels. Some ask for your password; some host fake or outdated documents. Your admit card comes from your SSC login.

What to check on the admit card

  • Your name, photograph and signature
  • Exam name, date, shift and reporting time
  • Full venue address — visit or map it the day before if you can
  • Category and any scribe or compensatory-time entries that apply to you
  • The list of documents and ID proofs to carry, and banned items

If something on the admit card is wrong

  • Spelling or minor mismatch: compare it with your application. Contact SSC or your regional office straight away, using the contacts in the notice, with screenshots of both.
  • Photo missing or unclear: read the notice's instructions. Exam notices often ask you to carry additional photographs and original photo ID in such cases.
  • Wrong category, scribe or compensatory time: raise it before exam day. These are hard to fix at the gate.
  • Never edit the PDF yourself. An altered admit card can get you barred from the exam.

Scribe Entry Pass

Candidates using their own scribe also need a Scribe Entry Pass. SSC's CGL 2026 city-details notice (opens in a new tab) says the pass is generated only after the candidate maps the scribe's registration number; for CGL Tier-I the deadline was 11 pm on 24 September 2026. Scribes must now register with Aadhaar authentication. See scribes and OTR.

Admit card not showing in your login

It hasn't been released for your date yet

Most common cause. Check the release schedule in the latest notice; phased releases mean later exam dates get cards later.

You skipped self-slot selection

For exams where SSC required slot selection, candidates who didn't choose a slot have been told their admit card would not be generated. See why the window matters.

Your application wasn't fully submitted

Open your application in the login and check it shows as submitted and, where applicable, fee paid. If not, contact SSC with screenshots.

The PDF won't open or download

Try another browser, allow pop-ups and downloads for ssc.gov.in, or use a computer instead of a phone. Busy release days can cause timeouts — retry later.

You can't log in at all

Work through the login problems guide; password resets go to your registered mobile and email.

Delhi Police exams conducted by SSC

SSC conducts some Delhi Police recruitment exams, such as Constable recruitment and Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police (through the CPO exam). For those, city slips, admit cards and answer keys are released through the same SSC candidate login on ssc.gov.in. Physical and later stages may be handled by Delhi Police as stated in the notice, so read each stage's instructions carefully.

On exam day

  • Carry the printed admit card. If you did not complete Aadhaar-based authentication, the GD 2026 notice (opens in a new tab) (§13.9–13.10) also required at least two recent passport-size colour photographs and an original photo ID showing your date of birth; Aadhaar-authenticated candidates were exempt. Your own notice may differ, so check it.
  • Report as early as your notice says: the GD 2026 notice asked candidates to report two hours before the exam.
  • Reach the venue well before the reporting time printed on the card; gates close on time.
  • Leave phones and other banned items at home or as directed.
  • Keep the admit card safely after the exam — you may need its roll number for answer keys and results.
