SSC JE login: Junior Engineer application, slots and admit cards

Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) candidates apply and track every stage through their SSC login. JE is also one of the exams where self-slot selection has been used.

This page covers what is specific to JE. For the general login steps, see the SSC login guide.

Junior Engineer candidates use the standard SSC login

The Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical) exam recruits engineers for central government departments. Applications and every later stage run through your SSC candidate account, created through One-Time Registration.

JE and self-slot selection

For JE 2025 Paper 1, SSC opened a self-slot selection window in November 2025: candidates logged in, opened “My Application” and chose their city, date and shift. SSC then gave a one-time extra chance through the Feedback Module and stated that candidates who still didn't select a city would not get an admit card.

If your JE notice mentions slot selection, treat its window as mandatory. Walkthrough: SSC slot selection.

Paper by paper

SSC JE stages: slot selection if announced, Paper 1, Paper 2, document verification and final result.
Typical SSC JE stages. Confirm in your year's notice.
  1. Application — choose your engineering discipline and exam centres.
  2. Slot selection, if announced.
  3. Paper 1 city slip and admit card.
  4. Paper 1 answer key and response sheet.
  5. Paper 1 result — shortlisting for Paper 2.
  6. Paper 2 admit card, answer key, result — Paper 2 is the discipline-specific paper.
  7. Document verification and final result.

JE candidate checklist

  • At application: choose the discipline (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) that matches your qualification. It decides your Paper 2.
  • Slot window: if announced, select city, date and shift before it closes.
  • After each paper: save the response sheet and check objections within the window.
  • Before DV: degree or diploma certificates, and any experience certificates the post requires.

JE tips

  • Keep degree or diploma certificates and the discipline you applied for consistent across OTR and application.
  • Some departments set different qualification or experience conditions; read post-wise eligibility in the notice.

SSC JE login FAQs

Is there a separate JE portal?

No. It's the same ssc.gov.in candidate login used for all SSC exams.

Where is the JE answer key?

In your login when SSC opens the window for that paper. See the answer key guide.
